When this dude can do this:

He's called Brock Davisson; and his notes, to my ears, have weight, resonance, and meaning.

Never compare. To anyone. You will always come out wanting.

There will always be people who can play circles around you, whoever you are. But they never have your feel. They never have your style.

One of my favorite stories, Bob Mould came out of a Richard Thompson show. "I looked at my hands and thought, should I practice more, or should I just quit?"

He's still at it.

Keep at it.

I'll keep at it... I used the headline for emphasis. :)

I'm getting back into practice and am reasonably happy with my playing atm. I may not have the stamina to play for five or six hour sessions any more, but those were few and far between anyway. We always broke for lunch, so to speak. :)

So impressed with young Mr Davisson. I can understand why chords may be problematical for him, but even so...

And Django did it with two fingers. All about the soul. :)

This reminds me - I'm in London now, at least for the winter. Let's at least meet up for a quick coffee soon, as it's much easier for us now!

Sounds like a plan.
I've moved to Croydon, being single now. Have guitars and stuff set up.

That's real legit stuff.

I should see if he has a record out.

I love his notes and his passion. His phrasing is glorious, and the way he plays...

I find him inspirational; which would be irritating to me in a younger person were it not for his remarkable charm in interview. He is a real musician, and a great one.
