money is unbelievably brilliant to have, and you really know it when you have experienced poverty for any lenght of time. but quality of life and standard of living really are two different things, and i honestly think that your friendship does and will mean more to them than any amount of money you could hope to throw at them. there will doubtless be ways of doing small kindnesses, but just being a proper friend is the biggest one.
