A believer in a cohesive society, if accepting of social strata; with a leaning towards meritocracy, but basically a privileged semi-aristo aware of his good fortune, as is. Much like most of my type, who are, alas, a diminishing number, rather than the overwhelming majority of the competent and professional, as was once the norm. People of my class and education no longer go into politics for the public good. They sometimes do so for personal gain, which I find objectionable; I would rather eat my own shoes than better myself at the expense of my honour, or what remains of it - but I sense I'm in a minority here.
I suppose all that adds up to a chap that sits on pretty much the same benches as you and attends the same divisions in almost all the big issues of the day.
