It is quite unimaginable to me that this can be even close to true.

They suggest giving details to TransUnion to check your address, I guess to prevent fraudulently getting hold of testing kits; however National Insurance number and Dept. of Work and Pensions should be all the confirmation required.

Just another fucking private company with your data.

People complain abut GCHQ having our data. I have no problem with that; governments have some checks and balances.

I do however have a problem with Elon Musk, for example, having my info. Just because you know whatever it was he had he'd use it against you after first having called you a Pedo and was busy defending himself in court. As is my marijuana buying may not actually land me in prison, but even so.

The government already has this data. Forcing us to be checked-in by a private company demanding all sorts of other details is rather unimpressive.
