Thanks to [profile] bronchitikatfor this quiz:

Which Discworld Character are you like (with pics)
created with QuizFarm.com
You scored as Lord Havelock Vetinari

You are Lord Vetinari! Supreme ruler of Ankh-Morpork! Cool, calculated, and always in control. You graduated from the assassins guild, but failed a course on stealth and camouflage, because the professor never saw you there (even though you attended every class). You always seem to know what everyone is thinking, and after a conversation with you, people feel that they have just escaped certain death.

Well, at least he looks a bit like me. But I can't juggle, nor can I be bothered to learn.
after a conversation with you, people feel that they have just escaped certain death... Bleeding Cheek!

Ah well, we're both too nice.
The Brother's down for the weekend, so I'm not able to see anyone on one of my few free weekends thus far. Damme. However, I have only one more gig this year. (Damme that too: but I will have a bit more free time.)

And I am consumed with revising for my exam. I feel that this task is fundamentally misnamed, however, as the word revising implies that I remember at least some of what I am attempting to recall. A more accurate description is blind panic about being sure I haven't seen this before, oh by the giant head of Brad Pitt, here's another bit I have to learn, and the bits I do remember I have backwards and so on. You get the idea. Add to that an apparent complete inability to understand anything about futures and options and the cheering news that less than 50% of people pass this exam at any one sitting (and the pass mark is a closely guarded secret) and I don't have much spare time for anything other than chewing my nails.

Wins today: remebering how to calculate the ex-rights price and associated gubbins without resorting to looking it up. Winnah! Losses today: a few more brain cells from beating my head against the wall after attempting once again to make sense of futures (and, more importantly, apply the knowledge to questions).

I'm sure Susan would be better at this than I am, although if the other option is the Librarian I'm not sure it's any help.

Do have fun with the brother, insofar as it's possible under the circumstances.

The blind panic explains the typos and the half-of-one-sentence-and-half-of-the-second-try-at-the-sentence grammatical errors that litter both my previous comments. It does not, however, excuse them.

Shamed...

Worry ye not: 'happens to me all the time, don't yer hate that?' as Rodney Rude once said.
One needs to grow a thick skin to do this stuff. Which is not the same as being careless with either grammar or spelling, merely an acknowledgement that even Homer nods, so you and I shall too.
