(no subject)

Yesterday I drove the Mother 250 miles to the ferry at Pembroke Dock, where she embarked for Ireland for her annual three-week motoring holiday visiting various rellies. Then I took the train back to Paddington, a round trip of some 500 miles. I was somewhat tired out after such a loud squawk, if that's the quote I'm looking for.
Stopped off at TPA on the way back from London to sunny Surrey, where I picked up my car and drove to SWMBO's house in East Dulwich where her parents were also ensconced, having come to stay for the weekend.
Tomorrow morning I have to see Steve K at his home, in order to give second godchild her birthday present, before heading off to Fra and Cressy's for lunch, followed by tea at Nick's.
Oh the social whirl of it all.
Sometimes I remember why I opted for eremitical solitude.

Some good bits to yesterday though: I found an A1/A1 first of the Silmarillion in a second-hand shop in Swansea for £5, which was nice; and a first of Enid Blyton's Secret Seven (no dustjacket, alas) for the same amount. Peter called me about more voice-over work too. When SWMBO was out shopping she bought me a couple of shirts, which was also nice.

Evidently someone loves me. And the fates don't appear to object too much to this state of affairs.
I know I'm blessed.
I am exceedingly grateful.

Go well and do great things, and if you can't manage greatness, strive for goodness.

Life is with people. And I'm still not sure why LJ first informed me that this material would not be suitable for miners. We who earn our living wresting shards of value from beneath the earth's hard crust are as entitled to poke our nose into your comings and goings as anyone.

Well....You're right, as usual: life is with people, though sometimes I forget this in my misanthropic idiocy. Thankfully there are folk out there like you who will remind me of the importance of connecting.

You are missed on [livejournal.com profile] convert_me. That page needs the good intelligent Christians. Faith is always present, (sometimes alas in naïve fashions) but intelligence is rarely so.

I did just stop by there, oddly enough. But I was only able to reveal my soft spot for the mentally handicapped.

Here's to the universe conspiring to shower you with blessings.
