Health = prosperity?

Alas, I don't have time to post it to talk_politics as I have to drive SWMBO and the little man to one of Madame's chums for the day. But my commentary would go something along the lines of "if this is the case, would it influence folk in the US to at least consider some universal health-care option? Because otherwise the American Dream would seem to be out of many American citizen's reach no matter how efficient they were at bootstrapping themselves."

Oh well, do good things.

Many of us do consider it a reasonable option, especially compared to similar services in the rest of the civilized world. But the government here is in the pocket of the big corporations--as it ever was. Expect no progress here. Expect the poor to die in the gutters, while the rich light their cigars with $100 bills and drink Scotch.

Traditionally education has been the highway to prosperity, if my history recall serves me right.

I'd rather spring for a universal free educational system (k-PhD) than a universal health care.
