(no subject)

On Saturday the Mother 'phoned. My godfather, Geoffrey, died on Friday.

I'd been meaning to try to arrange a visit to see G. and John to display young Henry, but I didn't get around to it. Not going to happen now, is it.

Henry is teething, and has the occasional loud bouts of discomfort.

This morning, as soon as our nanny arrived, I had to take Mother's neighhbour to the Royal Marsden for some experimental treatment for her cancer.

It all really could do with being a little better at the moment. Tomorrow morning I have an interview for a post as a peripatetic music tutor in Bromley (which is a borough of London). Too much going on to be sensible about the outside world.

Go well, do good things. Consider your position carefully, and do nothing mean of spirit, or disfiguring of soul. We have too short a time to be ugly in attitude, behaviour, or motivation. The craic and playing to the gallery are understood by all, but....

I hope you're well. The stoic approach can sometimes postpone the feelings of loss... Though I'm reminded of the story of Chuang Tzu's display when he passed the grave of Hui Tzu.

Sorry to hear of your loss. On the other hand, I am glad your son has teeth. Useful, those.

J9F, I don't know you very well, but you're one of the people I most respect on LJ. If there's anything I can do to help, and it's in my power to give, you have my support.

Peace be with him.

In many ways, we make our own place in the world - how we're seen and how folks deal with us. May joy and delight be frequent companions to you, sir, especially when things are complex or difficult.

I never know what to say in these situations, Sorry never seems to cut it!

Kids got teeth? he'll be snapping at your ankles next!

Wise words.

I must look in more, seems I've chosen an unfortunate moment to look in, sorry.
