So it seems like....

So it seems like the remainder vote (because this EU election has become yet another indicative vote in an ongoing saga) is coalescing around the LibDems.

If Lord Heseltine is prepared to break a lifelong Tory whip to vote for the LibDems I'm rather hoping others will follow suit. However I can't imagine Peter Oborne voting for anyone else but the Tories.

I'm intending to vote LibDem. Despite their complicity in the austerity policy they are the only alternative in my constituency. I'd vote for Change if they had only gotten their act together a bit better. Maybe they can ask Michael Heseltine to join them. I am reminded of Loki in "Thor: Ragnarok" telling the escaping gladiators that they looked like they needed a little leadership.

Whatever comparisons we can draw, or opinions we have, we all need to stand up and be counted. We actually need to start making votes matter, and voting according to our beliefs rather than tribally. Fat chance.

I'm fully expecting this European election to put us even deeper in the mire.

But in the bottom of Pandora's box, after all the evils in the world had been released, was a small, dusty-winged entity who announced her name as "Hope".
