(no subject)

If comets, species destruction, and/or climate change interest you take a peek at this:

How much control have we over our environment?
And what do we spend our money on?
Who's running this fucking show?
Please run all that by me again.

In order:

None. It controls us.
I spend mine on pizza and rum. Occasionally shoes.
I am. (Not really. There's a charge for THAT show.)

So true.
Ergo question four...What the fuck?

Heh, sorry. It's not often questions like that come up! I couldn't pass it by.

The "discovery" in the link you posted isn't anything new to me to be honest. It plays a part in my spiritual beliefs. I'm surprised the great, wise scientists have only just stumbled upon this however.

individually? not a heck of a lot. But there's reasons we're social....

bloody rent, bloody fuel. occasionally I buy food. I miss the farm....

noone is, not really. Most of it operates like a runaway train. That's the real secret.

however we've almost reached the point of being able to divert a rogue comet. Perhaps....

A slowly increasing amount, though it depends entirely on your definition of "control" and "environment". If another flood-basalt eruption occurs, you may as well set up your deck-chair and enjoy the show.

Who are "we"? I spend most of mine on tea, food, travel, books and video-games.

What show?

No.

Deccan Traps...whoo hoo. Yellowstone caldera, blimey. Excepting the Deccan Traps episode probably ain't going to happen again, and the Yellowstone caldera will blow eventually.

Or is that a distinction without a difference?

They can also happen completely randomly, at just about any fault-line. The real point isn't to be frightened, but just accept our lot and carry on. There's no use in crying over our forthcoming demise, or however the saying goes.
