(no subject)

I don't feel much like writing at the moment.
I'm rereading and editing and rewriting my novel (just in case) and I've found that I don't like it one half so much as I did when I wrote it some 4-5 years ago. Bugger, and I thought I was being so clever.
Will try to post again when I can bear the written word. Blast.
It's not as if nothing's happened (well, if I'm honest, not much has, but....when has that ever stopped a blogger with the bit between his teeth.)
Gods, I hate old work.

Maybe you shouldn't rework it. If it interests them, let it go as it is and trust your instinct of that time. You're not quite the same person as you were when you wrote it, so the person you are now would in all likelihood bugger it up trying to bring it round to his tastes. If you're not happy with it, that means that you must write another. It's called growth : you must allow yourself to move on.

I like my old songs, and I do make new versions of them, but I don't change the song. It has to say what I wanted it to say at the time. It belongs to the past and can't be made to express what I feel today. To do that I must write a new song today. But that doesn't annul the past...

Sleep well dear boy.

The second half needs looking at, alas. I was too pleased with myself by half, as the saying is.
