(no subject)

Some people go on about my use of English. However, it's not as bad as some.
Today, in my email, I received the most interesting communication, out of the blue, even.
Now I am not normally in the habit of either reading or replying to such stuff, but for once, I read it.

See for yourself:

Dear Correspondent.,

I am compelled to write you this email for the following reason:-

One of my client who is now deceased, in his Will, left his entire Estate and Cash

deposit, valued millions of US dollars. The truth is that,l do not know if you are the

beneficiary or not.

For over two years, l have tried effortlessly to locate the person on the will without

success ,which mandated me to contact you.

Can you get back to me urgently if you are capable of investing this funds in any profitable
ventures in your domain.

You can reach me via this email address: kennethmore@myway.com or call +447035901857 for

further explanation.

Regards,
Attorney Kenneth Moore Esq

For over two years, I have tried effortlessly to locate the person...
Good use of a classic name, but evidently written by someone for whom English is a second language, or maybe just a product of our dumbed down society - when even con-artists are stupid....there's just no fucking hope.

This isn't a scam

Question - if you work in Denmark St, you live in London, right ?

Supplementary question - if I bid on a small Leslie, 65w, about 60cm cubed, is there any chance you could go to Enfield to pick it up, then store it until we can find a way to get it to me ?

There's not much time left to bid, so it"ll probably come to nothing. If you don't reply I won't bid. But - for me - the temptation is there : a solid state 65w single rotor Leslie for less than £50.

Feel free to say no.

I replied to your email. Of course. Icould store it at home, or in the studio (wgere it might get used, so better at home).

Hadn't thought of the studio. Probably the best place for it. It'll 'earn its keep' there.

Thanks. All I have to do now is 'win' the auction. I'll keep you posted.

Dead Good, Steve will be ever so happy. He'll just have to work out how to mic the thing (I'm sure he knows really). Much obliged, my dear.

I won

Winning bid (mine) £31. I want to transfer the money to you (plus something for petrol), and you give it to him when he gives it to you. I'll be in touch by email.

That's quite a bargain. I've met one of these things before. They don't have the 'screech power' of the ones with spinning horns, but they do sound bloody good.

How exciting.

Something rings bells, m'dear.
Working effortlessly on your behalf would have been even better.
