(no subject)

Ah, me.
I've got to that age where, according to the demographic, the only things which clog my spam filter should be advertisements for viagra from wholesale pharmacies. But alas there are also other missives about shopping, insurance, betting, and a multiplicity of things or services which I neither want nor need. (As an aside, I'm hoping to put off any requirement for viagra until I'm well into my fifties: but now no doubt, having mentioned it, I shall be jinxed.)
So we had folk to supper on Thursday. Posh Stephen stayed over and helped me set up my 'Time Capsule' and Logic and new 'Fast Track' 'M box' type thingy.
It's good to see Stephen. For his journey home back by train to the darkest depths of West Sussex, I leant him this:

Yesterday I spent the day in bed with SWMBO, wherein we drank champagne, ate smoked salmon blinis, and played with our food. I bought her one of those pretty little new iPod nanos in metallic purple. She bought me pottery, in the shape of a mug of unsurpassable merit emblazoned with the legend 'Mr Grumpy'. I shall treasure it for all time; and strive to live up to its severe and stern admonition.

It makes you wonder, really.

One of the things I wonder is do the Greek folk have, um, any action which they can take? Sure, the Greek Government has been doing dodgy things....but could not have done so without the help or assistance from the very wonderful Goldman Sachs.

Derivatives....helping those CO's and CEO's and investors in apparent economic distress since well before Enron. Either that or in the more complicated versions, outright fraud? Creative mathematics is such an impressive subject.
