Four gigs in four weeks with the Wedding Band. Strangely, the the first and the last (with deputising keyboards) were the least successful: Saturday's being mainly because of the room and onstage sound. Such is...
The guv'nor (Martin, the drummer) wants to put this back into the set:
Not certain if appropriate for weddings, but it's a blindingly good song. Mind you Squeeze were a band with blindingly good songwriters, great musicians, and an overplaying honky-tonk pianist.
On another note, of late Poor Mad Felix has been in touch quite a bit. He's been feeling very under the weather, and last week his GP examined him thoroughly and took blood tests. Felix is afeared he may be dying, possibly of cancer. Given his lifestyle (between 25 & 50 grams of rolling tobacco daily) he may be worried with some reason.
I'm taking him for lunch tomorrow. He should have the results through by Friday, so we'll know more as and when. I hope he's all right and this is nothing more than a storm in a teacup. Fingers crossed, hey?
Both young Henry and Madame continue to cause joy in the heart, which helps rather.
Go well, etc.
