It does rather seem that Little Gideon has got something almost right:

Some maths still to do re one partner earning over the tax threshold, and the other not coming close. Combined incomes in two parent households might be a better starting point, but what the hell: it's a beginning.

It's only a start when they begin saving money and stop feeding the rich whilst the poor starve, I can't see this coming anywhere near.

aye - and I think I agree with it.

(actually I'd rather there be more support for finishing university for children, but I'm speaking as someone who's spent years destitute for not having a proper education)
