I've been thinking about racism more.
I've got problems with not being able to take the piss out of people (or myself for that matter) based on personal characteristics like culture or colour, sensitive though these issues are. Something to do with conflicting rights. The right of free speech and the right of folk not to feel unjustly prejudiced against.
I'm not certain that free speech is necessarily a right that takes precedence in the hierarchy as outlined in the model given by Kant  with his categorical moral imperative, but I feel too stupid at the moment to think this through. (This is the morning after the second night without sleep, so my cognitive faculties are somewhat diminished.)
But when the rugger's on I want to be nasty about the Welsh, Scots, Irish, French & Italians, though these aren't races per se, just nations and cultures.
And when we play Arsenal on Wednesday, I want to swear at the damn French for providing the enemy with the ammunition to beat us (because I know we'll lose dammit). Why does the best manager in the league happen to be French? And why didn't we get him. It's all envy and inadequacy - perhaps that is all racism is.

On a better note, I'm finally going to highdown tearooms. I shall pick up Posh Stephen from Petworth after lunch, and we shall pootle to the teahouse wherein I shall order a pot of Earl Grey and a scone.

Steve K was on telly (ITV) talking about Tin Pan Alley studios to of all people Suggs from Madness on 'Disappearing London'. I did a charity gig with Toby a couple of Christmasses ago, and Suggs did a couple of numbers with us including, I believe: 'It must be love' and 'My Boy Lollipop'. Weird seeing the two of them talking about stuff - weird but good.

Can recommend Highdown Tearooms. Nice Tearooms. No nonsense. Good tea and filter coffee (coffee + refill, Stephen instructed me to note). Couldn't try my normal espresso because I'm not sleeping properly at the moment, and don't want to ruin any chance of tonight's zzz's. Walnut cake passed test with flying colours.
Alas it is a square room, but has good beams, and possibly was once a dairy. The service was polite and prompt.
All in all about 8/10.

Shattered my dears, must catch some sleep.
