I wonder what the 'informal' reprisals will be like. The terrorists killed rather too many Indians for ordinary Indians to ignore.
There is a sizeable minority of Muslims in India....One wonders what will happen to them.
As for the official response:

Both India and Pakistan are nuclear powers, albeit in limited ways.
India, however, has over a billion people, Pakistan not even a tenth of that number. Pakistan may not be able to call on China for assistance, despite the fact that China and Pakistan are allies.
As an aside, China has its own Muslim terrorists, often proselytised by folk either from or trained in Pakistan.
It's difficult to imagine that these terrorist idiots may turn the adherents of their whole religion into the pariahs of the world: but it is not beyond the bounds of possibility.
Jaw-jaw rather than war-war, I hope. But Pakistan has to get its act together, and start taking on the terrorists....and pretty quickly too, else it doesn't take an oracle to see that bad things are liable to happen.
