Now there's a way of dealing with executives who overstep the mark.
Trial.
Now some may argue that there were deaths involved in the China milk scandal and thus far only a few suicides (like that of René-Thierry Magon de la Villehuchet) have occured since the credit crunch in general, and Madoff's Ponzi scheme in particular, blighted the finances of ordinary people.
So....perhaps no death sentences then. After all, not all bankers are criminals; it just seems that way sometimes.
