Jun. 24th, 2009 05:38 pmMy posting has been sporadic of late. Pretty certain no-one's that interested in the minutiae of the Ninefingers life but here's an update for those even vaguely interested.
Fancy dress party on Saturday. Fra, Cressy, and Annabel hired a place called 'Aragon House' on Parsons Green to celebrate Cressy and Annabel's 40th birthday. The theme was LOTR. Free bar from 7.30 until 1am for some 150 people, ergo everyone got a bit squiffy, as the phrase is. Madame looked splendid, even if she did describe her costume as, and I quote: 'Like wearing curtain material, and too much of it too'. I was in the guise of a ranger and wearing rather scratchy homespun. Only two female characters in LOTR so everywhere I turned there was an Arwen or Eowyn. Cressy cleverly went as Frodo, whereupon the Wife and I realised we should have cross-dressed, even though this would have meant shaving off my beard, which I am loathe to do.
Everyone had a ball and it was good seeing old chums.
Today I did a session at Motion Studios.
Ye gods, the music business is completely fucked. I've hardly worked at all this year....and not because there are young and gifted players coming up to do the job cheaper; though no doubt there are. I thank the gods for my small independent income, but I thank my father more.
Go well and do good things.
