I don't think the date went well. Bah, humbug. Bound to be my fault. Oh well, will review evening and work out what it was I was doing. I deem milady needs an admirer, and wants to know if I'm prepared for a non-shagging role. That normally requires beauty and charm and a double first in classics. Milady has beauty and charm - however, I think at my age I would be selling myself short in such a deal. Chums I can do, but no longer courtly lovers, and certainly not tin soldier.
Gods I'm cynical about people. And spurned by Lady Aphrodite again.
I am old and my sins abandon me, and (oddly, I find) I do not care.

Not so much apathy, but...I know the rules about dating, and this was a first date not a third date, so I know the difference: it's just sometimes one senses that the girl's not that interested, excepting out of boredom - and that impression carries over, and both of you end feeling similarly. Tends to mean that as a pair you don't have too much in common. Which also means that such relationships, if they ever become physical, remain just that. I'm not knocking such, because physical only relationships have their place, but I'm somewhere else at the moment, and meaning counts. But shit, spring is in the air, and by March I'm sure I'll be under the hormonal cosh again, begging and not choosing.
