I totally agree; I gave up on Dire Straits when I bought the album this track is on ('Sultans of Swing'?) and found it wore as soon as I got off the singles. That sort of thing makes me suspicious even of the tracks I like, so I guess I lost interest. But it's still a great song when I come across it like now.

I agree, and this performance was as close to faultless as can be imagined. It's just a pity that it was ALL downhill from here on.
