Washington tells EU firms: quit Iran now...

http://www.guardian.co.uk/usa/story/0,,2208176,00.html?gusrc=rss&feed=networkfront

Which is all very well.
Is Washington going to instruct Russia, China, and India to do the same?

Russia has recently signed a defense treaty with Iran.
Cheney really wants War. Or he's decided that Russia and China should have exclusive access to Iranian oil. And as an aside, China couldn't give a toss about what Israel wants, either.
Talk about a busted flush.

Couldn't he just put a ship in waters close enough to Iran, get the Israelis to sink it, blame Iran, and use it as pretext to drop a big one on Tehran?
After all, it almost worked for LBJ and the USS Liberty....it's just the Israelis didn't quite sink the Liberty, so the bombers with the H-bombs had to turn back from target Egypt.

You want to know why the Arabs don't trust the West?

The 'False Flag Operation' may have started in New York...

Again...we must agree to differ, unless more evidence comes to light.
One thing I didn't like about the USS LIberty page was the anti-Jewish prejudice. Being a typical 'Liberal', I don't like Zionism, but I loathe racism more: and some of the criticism seemed other than political which was why I included the Wiki entry. I may not like my fellow travellers in this: however, avoiding the Iran war is pretty important, if only for the sake of the service-people who will die. Iran has missile defenses. Bombing is going to cost airforce folk their lives. There won't be as much 'softening up' before the ground troops have to go in, and Iran has over a million men under arms.
With luck, the next president can rescind the order not to investigate and prosecute the criminals who have been running America for the past seven years, and these folk will be exposed properly and get what's coming to them in somewhere like Gitmo.
Also the US really needs to audit its spending: the taxpayer has been stolen from toomuch and too often. Accountability, surely.

The US economy might not be up to affording this war.

As an aside, the Yellowstone caldera seems to be undergoing changes.

Yes I've heard talk of bubbling news. That could reduce our worries about carbon emission to a trifle.

And talk of the next President, next war, or next anything.

possible good news:

The US habit of busting treaties every time a president changes - is another reason the "west" should not be trusted....
