Update...

While the work was going on in the flat, we left everything in my study: books, pictures, everything, waiting for the shelves to go up in Madame's. As long as the door was kept shut, all would be well, and work could carry on around the study, leaving it until last. Unfortunately, while the guys were sanding down woodwork, they left the door open and now everything in my study is covered in 4 mm's of dust. It's going to take me a month to clean it from all the books, many of which are firsts.

I feel like crying.

Bugger.
