I'm half inclined to believe it.

Mind you, looking how Jeffreys had a minor branch of the entertainment industry loaded onto Jimi's poor overworked shoulders, it could be argued he was putting the poor boy out of his misery. (I reckon Foxey Lady was becoming the bane of his existence ... He should have taken a big break, gone to study music at Berkeley, then teamed up with Miles Davis. All that was on the books, and what stopped it ? Jeffreys and his desire/need to make money !)
