Losing at Rugger....
Mar. 8th, 2008 06:43 pmWell, the Welsh beat the Irish, so the Ma was a little less happy than per, then the Scots beat England which left me morose: as if losing at Rugby should make a chap morose. I hated playing the game when at school. Up to my armpits in freezing mud on a December morning was not my idea of a good time. Because I was tall, they put me into the second row of the scrum (or Lock as the position is known nowadays) wherein I managed to be injured by a member of my own team. At the time, as I walked to the infirmary to be ministered by a nurse, I put it down to enthusiasm rather than a personality clash but even so.....
Ergo, I regard it as a spectator sport, but am still disappointed when my team lose. Soon we may have the Argentinians playing in what is at present the Six_Nations_Championship too. This would be a good thing as they're an excellent team, and to be quite frank, it's time as nations we buried the hatchet.
