Poor Gordon, so cruelly slain etc.
On Saturday, no doubt in anticipation of the Euro-Elections, I went down with the novovirus. It is possible to have better Saturdays, difficult though that is to believe.
Even so, I doubt my weekend was quite as bad as Gordon's.
I wonder if it's time to pack up my things and apply for asylum in some country that won't put me in a camp for not being quite English enough: after all my father was one-quarter Indian, and one-quarter Portuguese. I still have rights to an Irish passport, but I hear they're getting almost as bad in their dislike of non-indigenes.
I exaggerate, of course, but it's still a wake-up call. Not since the days of Mosley's Blackshirts have we had a fascist politician representing us at the national or supra-national level. Better the Tories than that: better the Greens.
I'll get my escape route planned....Just in case.
