This is where dumbing down education gets you.

Oh yeah, British kids are getting more and more intelligent. And 54% of those who are at present adults, many of whom were educated after the abolition of the Grammar Schools, are really more imbecilic than it is possible to imagine 21st century people being.
No, of course we don't need a properly educated majority in a democracy. If the majority believes up is down then obviously the majority view changes the laws of physics.
Given the level of stupidity of some folk, I'm considering throwing my weight behind Dawkins and Hitchins. The only way to fight this sort of propagandised lunacy is with counter-propaganda, no matter how disingenuous. The creationists, by their particular proselytising of the ignorant, have made it an either/or question. I refuse to stand by and do nothing while this sort of thing goes on in the background. It now appears that the majority of people are too stupid to be able to distinguish the important points of the arguments anyway. They believe the last thing said to them with any authority. Given this, Hitchens and Dawkins are probably correct in what they are doing.
I'm thinking of starting a movement to enact legislation to make it a requirement to teach evolution in all religious schools, and Sunday Schools, and maybe even from the pulpits of churches, mosques, and synagogues. This level of willful idiotic superstition is not to be tolerated.
Perhaps I should move to a country full of the rational and well-educated.
Madness, sheer fucking madness.
