We are at my parents-in-law. Yesterday we went out for a walk and my nephew took along his cricket bat and a ball. Halfway through a very informal cricket practice, I ran to try to catch a ball, and stumbled.
According to the quack, and x-ray, I have a chip fracture of a bone in my foot called the cuboid, and am now plastered up to the knee, dammittohellandback. This means I shall have to be a passenger on the drive to Hackness on Friday, and Madame will have to drive. This does not bode well for either of us.
Anyway, on Thursday morning I see the quacks again, and hope that they will give me a weight-bearing version of the plaster-of-Paris I have at present on my foot, which will alleviate the need for me to try to move about on crutches.
Ain't life grand?
Go well and do good things. Try to keep your temper in check if at all possible. Happy New Year to one and all.
