In our youth, as we know, you needed 5 'O' levels to become a solicitor (rather than a first from Oxbridge), you could 'Sit your Dinners' with 2 'A' levels (for those who know what that means), and teacher-training colleges accepted folk with 'A' levels too.
But this insane insistence that everybody needs a degree has contributed to the overspend of the public purse by a great amount.
