Three things.

First thing:

Now I don't mind when a chum comes along to prevent me putting my foot in it up to my elbow. We all have good, trusted friends with whom we share our minds. I'd rather that than make a complete blithering idiot of myself: and anything some of these coves in the coalition can do to make themselves, if not actually ept, at least less inept, counts as a win in my book. Especially if no public funds were involved.
I share my mind with my Wife, when she's interested; Posh Stephen from time to time; and to a lesser extent Fra, Cressy, Aaron, and a few others nameless and without pack-drill, as the saying contends.
Second thing:

Bah. Do not speak truth to power. Especially when power is trying to spin for the purposes of becoming the Eurosceptic Right's darling. It's Politics, innit?
However, repudiating the 1953 European Convention on Human Rights is madness, especially on an incorrect or massively exaggerated pretext. One might almost suspect deliberate mendacity. However, who was prime minister in 1953? If the present lot of Tories want to go back on the post-war treaties signed by Sir Winston Churchill's government, I think they should be ashamed of themselves, damn them.
Shame on them.
Third thing:

Dumbing down Radio 3 is the stupidest thing I can imagine. Damn you all, you stupid bloody irresponsible cunts, as Dr Jonathan Millar once wrote in a letter to Private Eye.
