Uh. Well. We already know what kind of patriot Trump is.
The Republicans are putting up with Trump because he is helping them stuff the courts with conservative judges.
The rest of us are not putting up with him, but sadly, there is no one obvious alternative candidate and even more sadly, the various candidatorial options are bashing one another. Also, the stock market continues to do well and the unemployment numbers (though I don't entirely trust them, having trained myself as a policy wonk and knowing how understaffed all those statistics-generating agencies now are) continue to drop. So, it's unclear what will happen in 2020.
