Well Dow Jones has gone to Roops....
The Times has been in print (with the odd hiatus) since the 1785, when it was known as the Universal Daily Register. He bought that in 1981.
The Wall Street Journal is not the only 'newspaper of record' he owns, but The Times, which was primus inter pares the Newspaper of Record worldwide, is no longer the paper it once was.
Good old Roops....everything he touches turns into the Fox network, sooner or later.

I'm not entirely thrilled by that particular buyout. WSJ is a bloody good paper, and I'm concerned he'll degrade its quality. Fox is an interesting corp: some really good writers and some really baaaad ones. Badly needs a good head editor to clean it out and remove the dreck.

Not spending too much time with Fox I'm surprised that they have a good writer or two on their books. Give me names and I'll read and analyse.
Good writers are their own excuse.

You're so right
