The Times has been in print (with the odd hiatus) since the 1785, when it was known as the Universal Daily Register. He bought that in 1981.
The Wall Street Journal is not the only 'newspaper of record' he owns, but The Times, which was primus inter pares the Newspaper of Record worldwide, is no longer the paper it once was.
Good old Roops....everything he touches turns into the Fox network, sooner or later.
