Deep embarrassment as I get to cataloging the Sci-Fi that lives in the book ghetto of shelves outside my bedroom.
I didn't realise I own so much trash. But there are some gems in amongst the detritus: Some 40 odd novels by Michael Moorcock that I've owned since school. Some are rubbish, many are competent, but not much more: however some are actually quite fine - 'Condition of Muzak' and 'The Dancers at the End of Time' novels spring to mind , as do the volumes of 'New Worlds' that he edited during the 60's. Almost all the Terry Pratchett's too, few of which are bad; and many of which are exceptionally good.
Stuff I haven't read or reread in years: 'Eyes of the Overworld' by Jack Vance; 'The Pastel City' by M John Harrison; various Philip Jose Farmer novels; The odd bit of Heinlein. The list goes on and on.
I love getting re-acquainted with my past through my neglected books. What was I thinking? What was my taste like?
I'm going to have to reread lots of these, just to be sure.
If anyone's really interested:
