It's a bit damn good, as the phrase is. There are always some real (and nerd-like) musicians out there, thank the Gods. I can cope with a bit pompous if it also has the passion to mean it. I know pompous rarely has any self-reflectory humour, or indeed humour of any kind: who can honestly imagine, for example, Thom Yorke ever having a laugh of a non-twisted variety? I'm sure in his private life he's just as capable of senseless humour as the rest of us, it's just he never comes across as that sort of person.
It's all very well being seriously interested in beauty of all kinds, but sometimes you have to roll with the absurdity of it all. Funny is often a spastic and automatic expression. Funny and pretty and sexy....Oh dear, my slip's showing.
