Gigged last night in South Buckinghamshire: the Lambourne Golf Club.
Sound was good; we all played well; everyone had a good time: even me....excepting the sound guy laid some hash on me and I f*cking lost it before smoking any of it.
Such is, such is.
Milady's builders came round today to size up her house for the shelves required to take all of my books. I then drove us all to my flat, where they are going to 'do it up' in preparation for it being let out. This will cost some money but....
Also I'm going to have to have enough money to buy SWMBO a suitable ring, and moreover one she doesn't have to find excuses for. ("Oh, he's a stuggling musician, and it's the thought that counts anyway"....that's not going to happen: I'm fucking forty-six, I should be able to stump up for a reasonable sized stone.)

This romance and living lark ain't cheap, but still it's better than being single, by any country's mile. SWMBO continues spreading grace, goodness, and light to all. Her sense of humour helps rather too.

It *is* the thought that counts though. I respectfully submit that if she wants a massive rock on her finger, she chips in with some cash.

She would make do with a ring-pull from a coke can: it's me that wants to do things properly. Somewhere I've evidently got a bit of insecurity or something.

Didn't meant to sound as though I was having a pop - sorry if you thought that. I do know where you're coming from (and you know why I know) and I do know it's tricky. Easy for me to say "Get over it" isn't it...

Nah, didn't think you were having a pop: but sometimes I feel I don't explain things properly. Normally I'd go to the family bank for the money for the flat: and if things go wrong I'll pay her back by borrowing from the parent, who still has a bit of capital with my name on't, if you see what I mean. But SWMBO and I are doing all this together, which is nice.

One way to help with teh cost is to think of how much it'll cost cost per year, spread over the long haul. ;)

This is both refreshing and kinda scary (in a good way) isn't it? Finding the mesh like that is really a neat thing.
