Let me just right now commit to coming over for some guitaring in the first month or so of 2016. No longer 'would love to but it's far away.' I'll send you a message shortly suggesting that late January should be possible.

I tend to use 10's on electric for standard tuning, 11's or 12's for dropped tunings. My acoustic is strung with 12's. But I can put 009's on a strat if you'd prefer.
The Helix is still on order. I hope to have it before the end of Jan.
I never go lighter than 010s. I've been playing classical for years now - getting the electric across never proved safe, never found a hardshell for either my superstrat or explorer (admittedly didn't try too hard because poverty means that I'd never be able to get the amp across anyway) - but I think my guitars are strung with 011s now. I never bend more than a tone and the - uh, the tone - uh - is so much nicer with 011s. But I'll be very happy with either!
