It was some run-of-the-mill hotel just outside Cambs. Good gig. Fucked the 'Beat It' solo and then some drunken person from the audience congratulates me on sounding like the record. Honestly, some folk have cloth ears. Fun was had by the audience, then I had to drive back in the English Monsoon. Fuckit. All the women were drunk, but wedding-smitten, ergo: not an awful lot of bad behaviour, thank the gods. (All too young for me, too: the young (ie everyone under 30, and rising) do not appeal to me - they lack wit, imagination, and conversation. And what's worse, they're all so damnably narrow-mided.
Ah well....

I used to live (and play) in and around Cambridge.

Change of subject : if I show up to meet you and collect my Leslie, do you prefer during the week, or weekend ? I'm thinking I'll hang out with you for a day... spending about 36 hours in Blighty in total. What'cha fink ?

I wasn't even a proper village. I knew Burwell and various satellite village/towns around Cambs. This place was beside a service station just off the junction of the A11 and B1307.

Tend to gig at the weekends so during the week is probably better. Give me at least 24hrs notice my dear, and I'll clean and air my studio for you to stay in.
And we can do some playing. I might bring another amp back from the Studio.

According to my calculations, it was between Pampisford and Little Abingdon. (I used to be a private hire car driver in Cambridge - I know the manor like me 'and mate.) I'm just waiting for my garage man to change me a wheel bearing, and to finish bidding on a T200 (split), and I'll be scooting up the N84 to the train terminal at Lille.
