I've been cataloging Nick's CDs. Found a program that seems to do both CDs and Vinyl. 350 odd CDs and some 700 or so LPs. So I did the CDs today. His i-Tunes stuff is all saved elsewhere, so I don't have to bother about that. Anyway, my record player turntable doesn't cost £2000 ($4000) before you start talking about the Arm and Cartridge. I could be envious, y'know....I know it's just stuff, but when it has a clunky beauty in its own right, as well as being apt and fit for purpose.... it's the old 'I want an Aston Martin' nine year old that I've never entirely been able to shake off. Honestly, I should be better than that. (At least I can laugh at some of my sins.)
Spent the afternoon typing away on the keyboard while listening to Saint-Saens, interspersed with the odd classic 70's Rock tune: I'm going to have to learn the solos to Python Lee Jackson's 'In a Broken Dream, then play it at the right pitch. Man, none of those fuckers are in tune with each other on that record.
But utter bliss nevertheless, my dears.
